On March 23, 2021, Military Insurance Corporation (MIC) and F.I.S Vietnam Consulting Services Co., Ltd (FIS) signed a cooperation agreement on the Olympic insurance program.

This is a specialized insurance program for athletes to protect against sports injuries.

In recent years, the movement of sports training is gradually attracting the attention of the community. At the same time, before the effects of the environment and the pandemic, the community gradually became aware of and self-consciously improved health through self-training and sports. Accordingly, the amateur sport tournaments are also flourishing. Every year, there are dozens of running races organized to attract thousands of people each. Competitions and sports are widely organized, such as: marathon, swimming - running - cycling, football, tennis, mountain climbing, etc. This has brought a buzzing air to community sports in Vietnam, but also posed potential safety risks such as injuries, accidents in competition...
 

Through tournaments such as trail running, long-distance running, athletes are trained to improve their health and conquer the challenge of their own limits. But in fact, in recent years, the sports world has been warned many times about unexpected accidents that can happen in competition such as injuries, accidents in special competitions, terrain marathons or running on the asphalt road through residential areas.

Experts also warn amateur athletes when participating in long distances, competing in harsh terrain, that they can push the body to the highest fatigue threshold. They go through really great challenges, face bad weather, and dangerous roads, which are full of potential risks.

Should athletes and tournaments need to equip athletes with a "protective shield" to confidently conquer all challenges?

It is known that on March 23, 2020, Military Insurance Corporation cooperated with FIS Vietnam to develop the Olympic insurance program. This is a specialized insurance program to protect athletes against incidents during sports competition.
 

At the event, Heritage Marathon Organizing Committee Representative Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Hanh said: "This is the first insurance program designed specifically for athletes participating in competitions. As the organizer of professional marathons, I feel very assured when having the Olympic insurance program of MIC and FIS to help ensure the safety of the athletes."
